Returns and Exchanges

At RememberTheFilter.com, we want to ensure you're happy with your filter purchase. That’s why we work hard to ensure you’re always 100% completely satisfied. However, in the unlikely event you need to make a return or exchange, we’re ready to make it right.

As an extra layer of confidence when shopping with us we offer an industry exclusive Filter Fit Guarantee™

  • Keep in mind that because some of our filters are custom made, we cannot offer a refund or exchange (remake) unless a product is defective. Please review the "Custom and Exact Filters" policy below.
  • If there is a defect in material or workmanship, something doesn’t work properly, or your filter(s) is made in the wrong size and doesn’t fit due to an error made at our production facility, you can return it and we will replace or repair the same product in the same size you ordered at no cost to you for up to 30 days from the date of purchase.
  • We also offer free remakes on “oops!” orders where customers have made an error in measuring their filters. Please review our Filter Fit Guarantee for more details.

Should you want to return filters for any other reason (say, you need a different MERV rating, model, etc.), you can request a remake of the same same size you originally ordered at the same price you paid (including any discounts).

Don't Want To Exchange - Request Refund Only

If you would like to return the filters ordered but choose to not do an exchange for a different model and/or size please contact us for an RMA.

  • Once the RMA is approved you will be given the option to return the filters using a carrier (USPS, FedEx, UPS) of your choice or we can provide a pre-paid FedEx return label that will be deducted from your refund.
  • Return request must be received within 30 days of the receipt of your order.
  • If we provide the return label it will be at our lowest negotiated shipping costs with UPS or FedEx. We can also schedule a pickup for you.
  • Return shipping rates vary based on weight and dimensions of the box.

Custom Sizes and Exact Filters

  • Custom Sizes and Exact Filters are considered special order and are not eligible for a refund.
  • Exact Filters and Custom Sizes can utilize our no worry Filter Fit Guarantee to get the correct size for basic and pleated panel filters.
  • Or you can choose to a receive store credit to be used on a future purchase if you choose to not take advantage of our Filter Fit Guarantee.
  • If you choose a store credit over our Filter Fit Guarantee we can provide a return label at our lowest negotiated shipping costs. Return shipping costs will be deducted from your store credit.

Please keep in mind we cover your original order shipping cost. The "Custom and Exact Filters" return policy is the only way we can keep our costs down to pass the savings onto our valued customers. Please review below to help avoid measuring mistakes or reach out to customer service before placing an order.

Warehouse Deals and Last Stock

Warehouse Deals and Last Stock products are not eligible for return. All sales are final.

    Restock Fee

    If you’re unsure about the filters you’re ordering, we recommend starting with a single filter or case to confirm compatibility before making a bulk purchase. We incur various fees to fulfill orders, and by minimizing returns, we help keep costs down for our customers and reduce waste that can drive up prices. Please note that a 25% restocking fee will apply to returns not pre-approved by customer service with a valid return authorization, as well as returns involving two or more products (a single case counts as one product and does not incur a restocking fee). Taking these steps helps ensure you make the right choice while allowing us to maintain competitive pricing.

    Refused Delivery

    Refunds will not be issued for "refused delivery" orders. Many of our filters ship direct from manufacturers and/or are special order. Manufacturing plants will not accept a return without prior authorization. Please accept your delivery and document any damage with pictures. Customer service can be reached at 866-469-8556 to assist.

    Special Order Products

    Special Order products are not eligible for returns or refunds, as they are sourced directly from the manufacturer and are not regularly stocked items. Customers have 24 hours from the time of purchase to cancel a special order. After this period, the order cannot be changed or canceled. Special Order products will be clearly marked on the product page, within quotes, noted in draft orders, or you may be contacted by customer support after your order is placed to notify you.

    This policy applies to, but is not limited to, high-purity filters such as VariCel, HEPA, ULPA, BioMax, and filters with MERV 14 or higher ratings, which are made to meet specific needs and requirements.

    We all make mistakes. That’s why we give you the tools you need to help avoid common measuring errors. Filter size specifications and step-by-step directions on how to measure your filters are available on RememberTheFilter.com, or take a look at our how to measure your filter page or videos.

    And don’t worry. If you do have an “oops!” moment and need to return your filters due to a measuring mishap, our Filter Guarantee Team is here for you! Just send us a photo showing how it doesn't fit, along with your corrected measurements, and we’ll remake your product for free!

    • Be sure you have measured your existing filter before placing an order, some manufacturers undercut filters so you should never base it off the label.
    • Exact/custom filters are not eligible for returns or exchanges.
    • Manufacturing tolerances of plus 0, minus 1/8" will be observed on overall width and length of custom/exact filters.
    • Pictures are used as a reference, sizes will vary.
    • Filters larger than 25x30x1 are considered a double filter where there is additional strength down the middle of the filter.
    • It's our policy to list the smallest dimension first on custom/exact filters. When the filters arrive the label will be displayed as such, this will not impact compatibility - it's just a matter of how you hold the filter.
